Verona CHILD/Verona District SEPAC

Verona C.H.I.L.D. Mission:

C.H.I.L.D. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support for children who are classified under IDEA, Section 504, or facing a learning challenge. Our mission is to provide a solution-oriented forum for families, educators, and administrators to effectively communicate and collaborate and help bridge the gap between special education and general education. The C.H.I.L.D. Board also serves as Verona’s Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC).

What is a SEPAC?

Children Having Individual Learning Differences, Inc. (C.H.I.L.D.) is 501(c)(3) New Jersey non-profit organization that was formed in 2006. A sub committee of the CHILD Board serves as Verona’s Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC). This Verona School District organization was created by parents to support the emotional, social and academic well-being of children with special needs. It provides information, educational opportunities, resources, and support to families and professionals striving to achieve the maximum benefit for all children in our community.

Open SEPAC Meetings 2025-2026

A SEPAC, through various channels, gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to provide input to their district regarding systemic programs, services, policies and concerns that have an impact on students who receive special services. An Open SEPAC meeting is a forum in which to be able to do this collectively and directly with the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil
Personnel Services.
