Verona C.H.I.L.D. Mission:
C.H.I.L.D. is a non-profit organization made up of parents and caregivers dedicated to providing support to children who face learning challenges and who receive special education services from the Verona Public Schools. Our goal is to provide a solution oriented forum for families, educators and administrators to effectively communicate and collaborate together to better understand and help bridge the gap between special education and general education.
What is a SEPAC?
Children Having Individual Learning Differences, Inc. (C.H.I.L.D.) is 501(c)(3) New Jersey non-profit organization that was formed in 2006. A sub committee of the CHILD Board serves as Verona’s Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC). This Verona School District organization was created by parents to support the emotional, social and academic well-being of children with special needs. It provides information, educational opportunities, resources, and support to families and professionals striving to achieve the maximum benefit for all children in our community.
Open SEPAC Meetings 2022-2023
A SEPAC, through various channels, gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to provide input to their district regarding systemic programs, services, policies and concerns that have an impact on students who receive special services. An Open SEPAC meeting is a forum in which to be able to do this collectively and directly with the Director of Special Services.
DATES: October 12th, February 8th, and May 11th. The meetings will be held in the VHS Learning Commons at 7 pm. There will be a virtual option, allowing for participation from home.
Info for May 11th Meeting:
Please join Ms. Tania Symmons, Director of Special Services, and Verona C.H.I.L.D. for our Open SEPAC meeting on Thursday, May 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons (Verona High School).
